Continue reading »]]> I finished the Reading Half Marathon in a time of 2:03min. It was a lovely sunny day with a cool breeze – perfect race conditions for a camel.

I had quite a duel with three Gingerbread men, but I managed to finish them off and push on.

Mustafa led me on and helped keep the pace up and my path clear (sorry if I bumped you along the way).

I had the energy to put on a bit of a sprint finish (see video clip below). The crowd support was incredible (raising the roof for me). All smiles…

Continue reading »]]> Race across Woolacombe beach

Once again Humphrey the Camel took part in the annual WaterAid Coast Along Challenge.

He returned to the South West Coast path and walked the stretch from Lee Bay to Croyde Bay in North Devon (10 miles).
The coastal views were spectacular and he got lots of cheers from supportive (and surprised) walkers. He survived the steep climbs and battering wind to make it to Woolacombe beach, with enough energy to spare for canter with a couple of horses :-)

We all had a fantastic day and really look forward to next years event.
There is still time to sponsor Humphrey’s efforts and help raise money for WaterAid.
